T-Mobile G1 Has Already Sold 1.5 Million
Who knew that T-Mobile G1 will be popular before been officially released? Certainly not Google, HTC and T-Mobile. The official estimates of how many G1 is to be really low, so low that in order to triple the original amount, and those T-Mobile G1 is sold should not come to the official edition, which is the 22nd October. Just recently announced that they have sold off all the 1.5 million units, which were available in advance.
Before you start to think this figure includes retail in G1, it is not. Whereas it is not even been released, all 1.5 million are G1 originate solely from the pre-order. People have ordered T-Mobile G1 is based only on what they read, only a few customers actually try one for myself. Google and T-Mobile have the hope that the G1 live up to all the surrounding hype, because if it does not, people will realize that the wood on the iPhone or Smartphone. However, when many people come as a G1 a lot more than the iPhone, and Apple has a serious competitor.
It will be interesting to see what the public thinks of the T-Mobile G1, when it is officially released to 22. [gadgetell]
I don’t want to make any claims on why they sold out in pre-order, but I think everyone is extremely curious about Android and if it’s as reliable as Google’s search results.
I’m pretty sure that a lot of the G1 sales are curiosity buys, but it will be interesting to see if the functionality and capabilities of the G1 will live up to our expectations.
