Sony HDR-CX12 AVCHD HandyCam

Check out the latest AVCHD powered Sony camera, the HDR-CX12. Measuring 69mm x 67mm x 129mm and weighing 420grams (battery), the camcorder includes a new Exmor CMOS image sensor 10MP ClearVid 1/3.13-inch and BIONZ technology. The HDR-CX12 sports Full HD recording of 1920 x 1080i, AVCHD (MPEG4 AVC/H.264, 16Mbps), HDV support (1440 x 1080i) 5/7/9Mbps and HDMI output. Other features include, among other things, the smile to the shutter and face detection, Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T 12 optical zoon lens, 2.7-inch LCD display, 5.1 surround microphone, and a Memory Stick PRO Duo (4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (Mark2) box) in storage. Sony HDR-CX12 comes out of Japan in July, but the hit stateside August to about $ 900. It will be sold with an 8 gigabyte Memory Stick, because it is not a Hard Disk Drive. (via)
