Skype unveils new version of its online communications application has been improved video and a greater number of options, users will be able to manage the calls.

Skype 4.0 has improved, with video features, which have a much larger screen size and the ability to carry out the instant messaging application in addition to video call.

It will also allow people to use a number of debates without the need for multiple windows. There’s one part of the discussions, which shows the current chats, which can then be used.

Mike Bartlett, director of Windows product management of Skype, said: “This is one of the most important changes we have made one and a half years in the history of the company.”

Skype 4.0 is currently available in beta form, and the company is to invite people to give feedback over the next few months to eliminate potential problems.

Bartlett said: “When you have changed anything dramatically, it can be quite difficult to get used to for your user base. This is the unfinished work currently.”

Another big change is about certified equipment with the application is now able to automatically detect new devices - such as headphones. Users reported problems when the shooting and the loosening of new equipment to previous versions.

Bartlett said: “Over the years, we’ve added a lot of wealth, and the functionality is Skype. It is no longer just a small piece of software for free calls.”
